Daniel Boone, and 2 Different Topics

Daniel Boone was born c. November 2, 1734 in Berks County, Pennsylvania. He was as a wandering hunter and trapper who was one of the earliest white explorers in Kentucky and worked to establish it as a 14th colony.  He was as a wandering hunter and trapper who was one of the earliest white explorers in Kentucky. Boone became a legendary hero even his death in 1820. He died September 26, 1820. Boone had little formal schooling but learned to read and write.

The bald eagle is our national bird, is the only eagle unique to North America. The bald eagle's scientific name signifies a sea eagle with a white head. At one time, the word "bald" meant "white," not hairless. Bald eagles are found throughout most of North America, from Alaska and Canada to northern Mexico. About half of the world's 70,000 bald eagles live in Alaska. Combined with British Columbia's population of about 20,000, the northwest coast of North America is by far their greatest stronghold for bald eagles. They flourish here in part because of the salmon. Dead or dying fish are an important food source for all bald eagles.

In this paragraph I will write about the life cycle of a butterfly. First the mother butterfly lays its eggs on a leaf. As time goes by the egg begins to grow then it breaks and the little caterpillar climbs out. The caterpillar eats and eats and eats soon it begins to shed its skin and then it makes its pupa. After 6 or 4 weeks the pupa breaks then the butterfly is born. Then the butterfly repeats its cycle by laying its eggs.

  1. Andrea,

In your first paragraph, you repeated the same thing twice about Daniel Boone being a wanderer and being in Kentucky.

I really enjoyed reading about the bald eagle. You did a great job writing about it. :)

After the word First you needed to add a comma. I also learned a lot about the life cycle of the butterfly.

Your word count is 250 words. I even cut out the part that you repeated in the first paragraph. Great job !!!!

    Your score 24/25
    1pt commas
