Man gets Sued for Starting a Wildfire

So apparently a guy in 2013 started a wildfire and the Federal Government chose to sue him for 25 million dollars. The basic story behind this goes that a junction box that wasn't managed well sparked and set fire to the San Jacinto Mountains which is above Palm Springs. Through an investigation that took pace they had figured out that some wires inside the box part of the machine was warped and left open. Because of this something inside a box started to spew out sparks, and because it was open hot metal fell onto the ground below the box. Now, this is a problem because there is a law stating property owners must make sure that the property they own is maintained. Because of this fire hundreds of lives were in danger, but I do not know if anyone died during the incident. The lawsuit that has taken place happened a day before the anniversary of when the fire happened ( that's kind of fucked up honestly). It was filed after the attorney for Al-Shawraf and the caretakers of the property failed to pay the costs of the damage and the labor of the firefighting. James R. Lance, attorney for Al-Shawaf and the caretakers are denying that they started the fire. They are saying they aren't responsible for starting the fire and or the damages caused by the fire. The fire was so big that it burned for more than two weeks. About 3,000 firefighters and 250 fire engines were needed to help put it out, and they also used about 30 aircraft.The National forest service spent millions of dollars on firefighters and other firefighting equipment, and about 300,000 on rehabilitation of the area in which the fire happened.

Merv Griffin

Early Life
Merv Edward Griffin Jr. was born on July 6, 1925 in San Mateo, California. Merv Griffin as most people know him was actually very lucky because do to certain health problems he wasn't allowed to go into war, but he was eventually deemed healthy enough however he was over the age of 26. And if you were wondering which Wars he was not in because you somehow don't remeber timelines, it was the Second World War and The Korean War.

His Career
Apparently he started singing when he was just 19 years old which at the time would be very young. He was also overweight when he was an adolescent, and apparently that made some of his fans very angry (we also call the fans that got angry douche-bags). He actually became really fucking embarrassed about it and decided to loose the weight, and honestly good job for him but it's actually really sad. He was able to loose like 80 pounds in 4 months so yay! He toured with this guy for 4 years and his name is Freddy Martin. Eventually he got enough money to form a record label with Panda Records (Best fucking name ever, and im not even joking). In 1947 he had his own 15 minute singing program on a radio show. In 1953 he was also in a musical called So This Is Love.

Between 1958-1962 he was a host of the game show known as Play Your Hunch. The show was on three networks however it mainly appeared on NBC. In 1963 NBC gave him the position to host a game show he helped produce known as Word For Word. I honestly don't know whether or not he actually accepted this offer.

 Griffin actually got his own Talk Show in 1962, but it was canceled in a year later. Two years after his first talk show got cancelled he launched his own show called The Merv Griffin Show. In the show he had kind of a sidekick character which was played by a man named Arthur Treacher. His sidekick left the show in 1970 and then Merv just kind of took over for everything that he did. According to Entertainment Weekly the show ran for 21 years, and that is actually a really long time for a talk show.

In 1969 CBS actually gave him a Late Night Talk Show  however a few months later CBS had fired him. The funny thing is that he a new show which aired it's first episode on the following Monday and it actually ran all the way into the mid 1980's. 

 Although he did have a very successful time in all the other careers he had Merv Griffin actually produced shows such as Jeopardy! in 1964 and Wheel of Fortune in 1965.  in 1965. Jeopardy! was actually originally called Whats The Question and it aired for about 11 years before it got canceled. Wheel of Fortune also know as "Wheel" barely escaped being canceled in the 1980's.

Death 
Sadly, Merv Griffin died in 2007 from prostate cancer. He had had it for many years and his treatment began in 1996. AS sad as his death was he was actually very successful considering people still talk about Jeopardy! and other things he did and was featured in.

A Post About Donald Trump

Okay, before I start this off, I'd just like to say that I know I haven't posted in forever. . But yeah here is some facts about Donald Trump and stuff.

Donald Trump was born on June 14, 1946, so he is currently 70 years old. He was born in Queens, New York and his mothers name is Marry Anne Macleod.  And I know that this isn't really important but apparently he was the fourth or fifth child of his family. His fathers name was Fred Trump, and he died in 1999 at the age of 93.  Trump's brothers and sisters are named Maryanne, Frederick Jr. , Elizabeth, and Robert. This man has also had five children which is pretty surprising cause who would want to start a family with an orange? His kids names are Donald Trump Jr (very classy like omg), Ivanka, Eric, Tiffany and Barron. 


Donald attended Fordham University for about 2 years. After that he had gone to Wharton School of Finance and Commerce. And he actually graduated with a Bachelors degree in Economics in the years of 1968. Here's a fun fact for you all also, Trump was never drafted into the Vietnam War for a number of reasons one of those being that he got lucky with a very high draft number. 

Now let's get into his real estate career because that is what he is mostly known for. Trump started working for his fathers company called Elizabeth Trump and Son when he got out of college. This company had mainly focused on renting out middle-class houses. Donald Trump's father Fred had purchased a place known as Swifton Village, which was an apartment complex for 5.7 million dollars. Trump has stated that because of this project; which his father and himself had invested $500,00 into gave him a net worth of $200,000 in 1968. He moved to Manhattan in the year of 1971, where he got into bigger projects, however he became really well known when his company The Trump Organization was accused of violating the Fair Housing Act. Now Trump didn't actually become guilty and the accusation was unsuccessful, but several years after that he was again taken to court for violating the terms of settlement. And as you guessed it he denied the charges and it wasn't stated if he was guilty. Skipping a few years into the future it is now 1981 and Trump has bought  building he plans to turn into the Trump Plaza. The Plaza became home to some people known as Dick Clark and Martina Navratilova. Trump also came into custody of the Tahj Mahal Casino in a transaction with some guy no one gives a shit about in this post named Merv Griffin (sorry but the truth hurts). In 2011 the Tahj Mahal was bought and had hit bankruptcy.  When 2012 rolls around Trump again identifies with the Republican Party, as well as offering Barack Obama 5 million dollars to release his birth certificate. In 2014 Trump gets sued so he has to remove his name from the Tahj Mahal and Trump Entertainment Resorts. Trumps show The Apprentice was cut from NBC for some immigration remarks that he made. 

On June 16th of last year Donald Trump had announced that he would be running for president. Probably the biggest news from Trump now is that he is in the lead for the Republican Nominee. You heard me right, a fucking fruit is in the lead.  On December 7th he announces that he would like to ban all the Muslim travel to the United States. He also announced that he wanted to build a wall that was literally the entire length of the Mexican Border, and if you thought that was crazy you haven't heard the funniest part. He said that he was going to make Mexico pay for it. The latest we know about the election is that Trump has beaten all other competitors and will be competing against Hilary Clinton for the position. I fear for our country.

Dangers for Teens On The Internet

Today we are going to go through some of the dangers that come with teens using the internet. Please note that if a teen chooses to use social media they're giving personal information out! Also please sit back relax and enjoy the blog as it has been a little while since I last posted!


Danger #1 Cyber-bullying

In school you may get bullied and the best thing to do is walk away but what if you cant? I mean yes you can always log off but one of the major things with bullying on the internet is that they can follow you. Say for example someone with the same username in all of their profiles is being bullied. Yes, you can block them but what stops them from making another profile or getting more people involved? Cyber-bullying sends more teens into suicide each year than regular bullying. That is seriously bad everyone like omg.

Danger #2 Sexual Predators

A big problem with thee social media sites is that anyone can sign up and you can put any age you like. Also with google images you can easily find a picture of a boy or girl and identify yourself as them. These predators will say they're of teen age they'll get to know you then one day they'll ask to meet in person. whatever you do DO NOT MEET THEM IN PERSON. These predators love chat rooms mostly because you can basically chat and if someone gets to trusting another person they'll tell them personal things. I personally don't use chat rooms but I do use Skype and I only talk to my best friend and my grandfather. Also a lot of kidnappings and rape crimes are a cause of kids trusting someone they don't know on the internet. My advice to you don't agree to meet in person and just because you think they're profile picture looks nice doesn't mean that's really them.

Danger #3 YouTube

YouTube is a cool site I have to say you can share your interests with the world and if you feel like it you can make your own show. But they're are a lot of dangerous things people can do on the site and I am not talking about just teens. Imagine a young woman makes a video and posts it shes in her bedroom and shes got a window behind her with a bunch of different high priced items. Automatically you can tell if she has any money to spend and if you look out the window you can possible see the outside of her home.  Also with many YouTube video personnel you can also send them things you make or even just buy them things they like and send them. This gives out your city and your state and I know some people will wait for you even if it is a P.O. box. Also with this if you choose to videotape yourself doing and errand they can see street signs and many other things that could lead to you getting into some bad things.



So that is just some of the dangers that could get the person using the sites into some bad things. Also some people can track your IP address and they're hackers that will hack anything they can get their hands on. No one is really safe on the internet but they're are some things you can o to be safe.

#1 Report and block any bullies or "trolls" (a troll is a person who will harass and harass and will not stop until you take action and remember all they want is a reaction)

#2 Don't give your info out to anyone unless you know them in real life and trust them

#3 put your Facebook profile or any other profile you may have on private. This will stop random people from seeing your account and your pictures.

#4 Also I didn't mention this but girls mostly and some guys put your clothes on for pictures. It is not cool to look cool with just your bra and underwear on in a picture!

Heinz is a food processing company and they are most famous for their ketchup. The headquarters are in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The company manufactures food products in 6 continents and more than 200 countries.

History

The founder of the company Henry John Heinz began to pack small foods in Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania, in 1869. It was there that he founded the Heinz Noble & Company with his friend L. Clarence Noble they began to make horseradish. The product was a recipe's of Anna Heinz they began making the product in Henry Heinz's fathers former home in the basement. Sadly in the year of 1875 the company went bankrupt but the following year Henry Heinz found the F & J Heinz company with his brother John Heinz and a cousin Fredrick Heinz. Interesting enough one of the company's first products was tomato ketchup. The company after that continued to grow and in 1888 Mr.Heinz bought out his two partners and reorganized the company as the H. J. Heinz company.  The slogan "57 varieties" was introduced by Heinz in 1896. The slogan was inspired by a advertisement he saw while riding a elevated train in New York. He picked the number because he liked the sound of it (not the brightest idea but kind of funny) he picked the number 7 specifically cause it appealed to people of that age. In the the year of 1905 the Heinz company was incorporated and Henry Heinz took the duty of being the first president of the company. He stayed the company's president for the rest of his life.

In 1930, Howard Heinz, son of Henry Heinz, helped to fight the Great Depression by selling ready-to-serve "quality" soups and baby food.

 In 1966 Henry John Heinz II resigned as president and CEO of the company. He soon became its managing director and in 1971 he moved to Pittsburgh.

On May 14,1919 Henry Heinz died.





Me and my family actually saw the Heinz Company factory in Pits burgh a couple years ago. It was a huge building and it looked really cool.

Stan Lee + Marvel Comics Superhereos

Stan Lee was born on December 28, 1922 as Stanley Martin Lieber. He was born in New York City his parents were Romanian-born Jewish immigrants. He was born at the corner of West 98th Street and West End Avenue in Manhattan. His father practiced his profession as a dress cutter but worked sporadically (an adjective that you can use to refer to something that happens or appears often, but not constantly or regularly.) after the Great Depression. Because of this they moved more uptown then they had been. When Stan Lee was only nine his brother Larry Lieber was born. He attended DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx. He wanted to write books and such items in his youth.

Early Career 

He was hired as an assistant in 1939 to Timely Comics this was a division of Pulp magazine. In the 1960's Timely Comics would evolve into Marvel Comics. But because he was an assistant he didn't do any writing. He said he used to help out around the office. He made his comic-book debut with the text filler "Captain America Foils the Traitor's Revenge". 

His Superheroes And Villains

Captain America

Captain America was from the war era and he had something done to him that made his muscular and really strong. He went to defeat the Germans put he wrecked and he got frozen in his ship. He wakes up 70 years later and he fights crimes with a giant shield that represents America. His rival aka his villain is Red Skull. 

Thor

Thor is the god of thunder and he was chosen to be a god because it was either him or his brother. His brothers name is Loki and he is his enemy. I can't remember what happened in the movie so yep that's all I am  gonna put for Thor.

The Hulk

The Hulk is a big green dude but he only turns big and green if hes angry. I think he was a scientist from what I hear I've never watched a Hulk movie so i don't know his enemy. His enemy would probably abomination or something.


Spider man

Spider-man is a boy named Peter Parker who worked for Oscorp and got bitten by a radioactive spider. His enemy is The Lizard who is basically a giant lizard. He is not apart of the Avengers though but I though I would include him cause I would feel ad if I didn't.

Iron Man

Iron Man is Tony Stark a billionaire who lives off of something placed where his heart should be. He made an iron suit and fights crime one of his enemies was Obadiah Stane. And he really doesn't have anything super about him except for his suit. He is probably one of the most powerful superheroes in the Marvel Universe.

Hawkeye

I don't know Hawkeyes story or his rival but he carries a bow and arrow around and shoots things.

Black Widow

Don't know her story or rival either shes just a really cool chick that has some awesome fighting skills.

If I Owned A Business...

I have been asked a question and that question is What type of business would i own? I have thought long and hard and i do mean long and hard about this. And let me just tell you thinking can exhaust you. I have also been asked to give my Mission Statement for the company. So here you all go here is If I Owned A Business.

If I owned a business it would be a pet supplies store. Not only would I sell pet supplies but I would also sell animals. I would sell basically everything from litter to flea repellent. And I would have reasonable prices I cant give any examples cause well because I don't usually look at the prices cause I don't shop for pet supplies.

My Mission Statement would be to give the best products for pets so that you can have a healthy relationship with them! Yeah I know mainstream but eh it is what I came up with. And plus I am not that experienced in the business world. I say that as I am a girl who took a business class last year.

Also I would take 15% of my monthly earnings and donate it to a organization which would help homeless and abused animals. I would do this because well animals deserve to be happy and it would kill me to know that I who would run a pet supplies store wouldn't be helping. And I would also be a non-kill store which basically means if an animal stays in the store for a long time I will not kill it. I don't know who could do that to an animal though that's just to emotionally harsh on yourself unless you hate animals.

Now for a name and this was probably the hardest thing to decide mostly because a lot of names for pet supplies stores are already taken. The name of my pet supplies shop would be Animals And Pet Stuff. I know that is really awful for a shop name. At least it is kind of funny at my awful effort to find a name.
