Neptune facts and a little bit about a story

Neptune was discovered in 1846 by Jhon Galle an Heinrich D'Arrest. Voyager 2 visited Neptune in 1989 and took pictures of the blue planet. Neptune got it's name from Greek mythology. Scooter is a white cloud that moves around Neptune's surface. The great dark spot is a huge storm on Neptune. Neptune has 5 rings. The planet also has 13 moons. Triton was the first moon discovered near Neptune. Neptune orbits on the edge of the solar system. More than 160 years have passed since Neptune's discovery. Neptune's discovery was surprising. Neptune is a landless gas giant. Like Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus Neptune is a gas and has a liquid world. Not much sunlight reaches Neptune.

The story I will be talking about is called The Hamster In Room 144. In this story a kid knows his teachers pet hamster is special. This hamster can count, and tap his foot. The hamster also saves the kids family money by running on his wheel with a solar power macing hooked up to it. The hamster  also has tunnels attached to his cage.

The dog ran quickly to his owner. The cat ran faster than the kid. Jada ran fastest to the ice cream truck. My mom salted the green beans beautifully. They winner jumped quickly off the ground to the finish line.

  1. Andrea,

Johann is how you spell the name in the first paragraph. You wrote it's in the sentence about its name, there should not be an apostrophe. Remember to re-read the sentence to make sure it makes sense. In Greek mythology, what does Neptune mean?? Great Dark Spot is a proper noun, it must be capitalized. I thought it had 6 rings?

I like what you wrote about the story, you could have given a little more information but what you did write made sense. :)

Very nice on underlining the adverbs. I think you understand what they are very well :)

Your word count is 221 words.

    Love,
    Mommy :)
