Thanksgiving, Cells, and Houdini

Well another holiday has past and it was Thanksgiving! I and my family had visitors this year grandpa Keith and grandma Linda came to spend the day with us. They stayed Wednesday through Thursday. We played darts, and all other kind of games.  For dinner we had corn, stuffing, green beans, rolls, deviled eggs, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, pumpkin rolls, pumpkin, bread, ham, turkey, beef gravy, turkey gravy, and mashed potatoes. I really like when they come to visit. Grandma Linda even bought me a Atari! I hope they come back soon if they do I’m sure ill blog about it.

Some people might think what is a cell? If you think a cell is the kind in jails you are wrong. Cells are basic units of life. We are made up of thousands of billions of cells. There are two different types of cells a plant cell and a animal cell. Cat’s, dogs, and fish are all examples of an animal cell. Cactus's, roses, and daisy’s are all examples of a plant cell. Long ago animal cells ate primordial soup which is this big ocean full of cells. With all these cells going away a new cell formed the plant cell. The plant cell spread oxygen through the air allowing more cells to survive. As time passed the air was oxygen instead of poisonous deadly gases.

Some people might wonder who Harry Houdini was. He was one of the most famous magicians of all time. Houdini had many famous tricks he could escape from hand cuff, a coffin, and an ordinary box! He even said his tricks weren’t magic they were just tricks. Harry Houdini died 75 years ago and yet no magician can ever repeat his tricks! Harry was a wonderful magician.

This is harry escaping from chains!

  1. Andrea,

Your first paragraph was good. Just a couple of things. You say 'ill' that should be capitalized and there should be an apostrophe. Also, you don't need the comma after pumpkin, it was pumpkin bread.

You did a great job on writing about cells. Very impressed with your writing. We need to work on some commas.

Handcuffs is one word and should end in s. Otherwise, very interesting paragraph on Houdini. Did you like learning about him?

    Your word count 297 words.

Your score on this blog entry 23/25
    1pt capitalization
    1pt commas

  2. I think Harry Houdini was a cool dude! Sometimes he needs to rise from the dead and teach me how to escape from your mommy. Just Kidding!

    Love,
    Daddy
